This is a private course and country club that opened in 1928. For the past several years the course has been home to the Meijer LPGA Classic. Located approximately 15 minutes northeast of downtown Grand Rapids, surrounding homes fall in the Rockford School District with Rockford High School close by. Because of the age of the course and how it was developed, homes for sale are few and far between.
Boulder Creek Golf Club | 5750 Brewer Avenue NE, Belmont, MI 49306
A stones throw from Blythefield, Boulder Creek Golf Club is a completely different setting. The course opened in 1998 and was designed by Mark DeVries who designed many courses in the surrounding area. The neighboring homes are located in the Rockford School District with a small number of side by side condos mixed in with single family homes.
Briarwood Golf Club | 2900 92nd Street SE, Caledonia, MI 49316
Briarwood Golf Club was opened in 1963 and features 27 holes of golf. A beautiful clubhouse is one of the highlights of the property located in the Caledonia School District approximately 20 minutes southeast of Grand Rapids. Although the course is more budget friendly, you wouldn’t know that by the smattering of sprawling estates that surround the course. Those homes feature large lots and a variety of designs.
Broodmoor Country Club | 7725 Kraft Avenue SE, Caledonia, MI 49316
Often known as the sister course to Briarwood, Broodmoor was opened in 1965 and sits just to the northeast. The course fully encompasses a neighborhood of single family homes and another borders it to the west. Located in the Caledonia School district, homes in the neighborhood typically start at 450k and go up from there.
Cascade Hills Country Club | 3725 Cascade Road SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546
One of the most exclusive clubs in the Grand Rapids area, Cascade Hills opened in 1921. The main 18 holes play as a par 71 while a 9 hole par 3 course was added in 2020. The course is situated between the Forest Hills and East Grand Rapids school districts and is bordered by a small number of sprawling condos.
Egypt Valley Country Club | 7333 Knapp Street Service Road NE, Ada, MI 49301
Set on a sprawling piece of property you will find 36 holes of quality at Egypt Valley. The two courses, known as The Valley and The Ridge, offer two unique playing experiences both designed by Arthur Hills. Just as impressive as the course are the custom homes that border it. Gleneagle Golf Club | 6150 14th Avenue, Hudsonville, MI 49426
A tightly packed course surrounded by homes and condos, Glenagle boasts some of the most unique and strategic greens in the Grand Rapids area. The course was opened in 1997 and has many tight fairways. The condos aligning the course almost seem to be right on top of you in many locations around the course adding to the tightness of the course. Located in the Hudsonville School District, the course is a fun play in a nice area.
Railside Golf Club | 2500 76th Street SW, Byron Center, MI 49315
This private course located in the popular Byron Center School District, was opened in 1991 and designed by famed Michigan golf architect Jerry Matthews. Rolling hills and well maintained grounds are highlights of the course. The course is surrounded by the Railside subdivision which features homes mostly built within the last 20 years. Custom homes, mostly of higher quality are bordering the course.
Stonewater Country Club | 7177 Kalamazoo Avenue SE, Caledonia, MI 49316
Part of the Redwater Country Club group, Stonewater is located in the Caledonia and Byron Center area and was previously named Crystal Springs Country Club and built in 1989. The subdivision surrounding the course is still named Crystal Springs and features larger square footage homes of a variety of styles. Playing as a par 71, the course offers some memorable water lined holes and big doglegs.
Sunnybrook Country Club | 624 Port Sheldon Street SW, Grandville, MI 49418
Sunnybrook Country Club was designed by Bruce Matthews and opened in 1958. It is now part of the Redwater Country Club group and is located in the between the Grandville and Jenison School Districts. The course is surrounded by some of the most impressive custom homes, especially once you go across the street to the Summerset neighborhood. Many of the homes are visually unitimadting but subtle sloping and difficult greens, makes for an interesting round.
Thousand Oaks Golf Club | 4100 Thousand Oaks Drive NE | Grand Rapids, MI 49525
Located in the Northview school district, Thousand Oaks gives you the up north golf feel as soon as you step on the course. The course designed by Rees Jones and opened in 1999, the course quickly became one of the favorites of West Michigan golfers because of the dramatic elevation changes and tree lined fairways. A variety of housing options border the neighborhood including attached and standalone condos as well as sprawling luxury homes. The course was recently acquired by the Redwater Country Club group and is a must play.
Wallinwood Springs Golf Club | 8152 Weatherwax Drive, Georgetown Township, MI 49428
Located in the Jenison School District, Wallinwood Springs is a tale of two courses. The front 9 is unassuming and features a traditional back and forth layout with not a whole lot of trouble. The back 9 meanders along the grand river and features some long and daunting holes and much more trouble and water surrounding the holes. The course was designed by Jerry Matthews and is not always in tip-top shape but is a fun time! The housing surrounding the property is the traditional mix of condos and single family homes.
Watermark Golf Course | 1600 Galbraith Avenue SE, Grand Rapids, MI 49546
The course was built in 1958 and was redesigned multiple times through the years. A walkable course with excellent greens, the course is very playable. A private course party of the Redwater Country Club group, the site features an excellent restaurant as well. Located in the Forest Hills School District, the course is bordered by mainly single family homes. The surrounding Cascade area features a lot of dining and shopping options as well.
